When I relocated to Lead from Las Vegas 2 years ago, I was amazed to find a non-profit, non-government agency doing so much for so many. A Christian fellowship offering prayer, a food pantry, counseling, job search assistance, Bible studies and 12-step meetings means The Center of Hope is like a ray of light for people in their darkest, most hopeless moments.
The Center of Hope has been involved in many community events designed to evoke a sense of belonging to not only the people that attend functions but to the entire community.
The Black Hills Center of Hope has helped me emmensly. They have provided food, meetings and friendship. I found a relationship with Jesus Christ here through Bible Studies and unconditional love. Their love for everyone who walks through the doors of the Center of Hope and for the people of this community is inspirational.
The Center of Hope has filled a great void in our communities. By serving residents of Lead and Deaddwwod, as well as a great deal of the Northern Balck Hills, the Center offers encouragement and trust to many who truly have no where else to turn.
The Center of Hope has faithfully reached out to many of the needy of our community. There are many factors that lead to the alcohol and drug problems of our area, but few ministries that are as effective in helping those with these problems as the Center of Hope. The Center and its staff are available for the support and ministry that these people need. They provide a ministry though their presence, a cup of coffee, and a willingness to listen and pray. At times they offer referrals, and help to purchase some of the most basic needs. This minsistry reaches whole families. They are actively caring for others in the community, and the Norhtern Hills Area. They are working with local Pastors and churches and other volunteer organizations. The Center of Hope is meeting a very real need.
