About Us

The Black Hills Center of Hope was established in 2007.

A group of friends were gathered together for a Bible Study and began praying about a "place" to help those who were struggling with addictions. After sometime of prayer and seeking Sprititual counsel we began looking at buildings to rent on main street in Lead. We found one that was perfect and through a step of faith we found ourselves putting down a deposit to rent our first place.

The Center of Hope started with a table and chairs and a coffee pot. We started praying for guidance and direction, of course God came through and began speaking to the hearts of people. Soon we began recieving financial donations to help with our expenses. God has always provided for our needs at the Center of Hope, He has never let us down.

We started a Bible Study and the 1st AA meeting was held in July of 2007. Many more meetings were added to our schedule along with adding a food pantry and a free meal once a week. We became a resource center for some, but mostly we were a safe place for people to come. A place where they could recieve compassion and understanding and most of all Hope.

Those of us who founded the Center of Hope have all walked a path that wasn't so smooth, sometimes filled with adversities, pain, a lot of tears and heartache. We were able to shine a Light on a new path for those still hurting. Jesus Christ has touched our lives in such a dramatic way and shown us that life could be good again. It is our complete passion to share this Hope with others.

Now, 4 years later we are purchasing our own building and we are in the middle of a kitchen project in order to serve the hungry of our community. It has only been through Gods faithfulness and through the prayers of the many people who believe in the Center of Hope that we are still here.

The Center of Hope rely's emmensly on our faithful volunteers. There are so many who show up to help us with fundraising events, community wide outreaches, to clean the Center of to get mailings ready. Their help is so valuable to us.

Thank you for your continued prayers and financial support. You are touching the lives of many in a BIG way.

May God bless you abundantly, LeAnne and Barry
The Black Hills Center of Hope has helped me emmensly. They have provided food, meetings and friendship. I found a relationship with Jesus Christ here through Bible Studies and unconditional love. Their love for everyone who walks through the doors of the Center of Hope and for the people of this community is inspirational.
